I told my partner that Rozalski is one of my favorite artists early in our relationship, and so he went a bit overboard and bought seven of his prints. They still hang allll over our bedroom walls 😅

Second appointment was a 90+ yr old man whose life history I’m cataloging. As I flipped through a folder of his stock market notes, he told me his current net worth is six million dollars and then sort of laughed to say that should get him through the rest of his life. The stark contrast, y’all.

I had 2 research appts yesterday. First with a woman my age that went from family history talk to the current state of political crisis, during which I said how $10000 would change my life. She told me, a stranger, that if she ever wins the lottery she’ll give me that. The empathy touched my heart.

😵‍💫 What even was this week? It’s been chaotic, full of bizarre synchronicities, and happened quickly and also painfully slow. Goal for tonight is to be as cozy as possible.

Franklin and I visited a new monument at the county admin building today that lists several of my Revolutionary War ancestors. He acts like he can read, or maybe he actually can. 🤷‍♀️

A regular library patron came in today and said he would prefer it if I covered the grey streak in my hair because he doesn’t think women look good like that. He’s 70+ years old. If I seem angry that’s what I’m thinking about.

All done until next year! I’m considered high risk and so I nervously look at the images while waiting for the dr even though I don’t know what I’m looking at. 🙃 It’s a big relief when she gives me the all clear.

When I go into work at the library sleepy from staying up too late reading ebooks I bought online 😅

Digital content is certainly going to keep growing, especially as the technology to digitize becomes more accessible. But there are many people who don’t have the means to access it, & rely on physical materials. My library system covers a lot of rural area so I see firsthand how vital that is.

Speaking as a library worker, we use our fax machine for the public quite a lot. So for libraries they are still great.

Woke up to a power outage and a slight chill in the house. Power has been restored but this dog may not fully recover from the trauma.

Where are my GenX ladies with disfunctional mother/daughter relationships at? Mine refuses to contact me by phone and relies totally on fb messages which I rarely check so that’s fun.
