We just started a GoFundMe in order to help support the increasing needs, especially since the immigration raids within our communities have increased significantly.
I see the impact this group has in peoples’ lives everyday and I’m amazed.

This group of (mostly) women have been doing incredible work supporting immigrant communities in N County San Diego We’ve been operating with just what volunteers donate weekly along with what supplies we can get from local farmers and markets but it’s simply not enough to support all the needs.

Now, several of those items – including “national origin,” “politics” and “marital status” – have been removed from that list.

This is the problem:
Until the recent changes, VA hospitals’ bylaws said that medical staff could not discriminate against patients “on the basis of race, age, color, sex, religion, national origin, politics, marital status or disability in any employment matter”.

Discriminating against anyone, but particularly veterans who’ve sacrificed for this country, in this manner is disgraceful yet par for the course these days.
This administration and the VA need to be held accountable for the atrocious manner they’ve treated veterans.
