I think a 3 chapter rule sounds like a good idea. It's enough to know you're not enjoying it but not too much that you are reading it for ages.
25.02.2025 16:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think that's how it should be. When I was at school we had to finish books, so I think it lingers from that time.
Fortunately now I think there's more research around reading for pleasure and the child's choice than there was back then.
πI gave up on a book yesterday. π
I wanted to love it. Lots of people had raved about it.
Then I reminded myself that I never used to force my pupils to read a book they weren't enjoying.
If you're not enjoying a book do you keep going or admit defeat and find something you like?
