The hurricane is currently located south of Cuba with maximum sustained winds of 175 mph, moving west-northwest at 3 mph. Hurricane Melissa is headed towards the Caribbean islands of Jamaica and Cuba after undergoing extreme rapid intensification over the weekend to reach peak intensity and Category 5 status.
