Eliminating FEMA Will Endanger Millions The Trump administrationโ€™s ongoing assault on FEMA has taken an alarming turn, with Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem reportedly directing that the agency be dismantled by October 1.

As we also approach hurricane and wildfire seasons, we are reminded of the need for a well-staffed and resourced #FEMA to help communities cope with and recover from extreme weather damage. www.ucs.org/about/news/e...

From TX to the Great Lakes, a large swath of the U.S. faces a potentially severe tornado outbreak this week. We have this forecast thanks to the work of the National Weather Service, operating with reduced staff and facing further cuts by the Trump administration. www.spc.noaa.gov/products/out...

The Trump administrationโ€™s wide-ranging and bad faith halt to federal grant funding is an illegal overreach of presidential authority that will deeply harm people across the nation and will be rightfully challenged in courts.
