Ever since the horrific acts of brutality by NSW Police against peaceful protestors on Monday night, Chris Minns has backed their actions. This is very very disturbing. Here's (some of) what I said in Parliament about it.

Last night's obscene police violence in Sydney was reminiscent of what we're seeing from Trump's ICE operation in Minnesota. Yet just last week the Upper House passed a motion I moved expressing deep concerns about ICE's operations and the undermining of human rights in the US π€

Mass fish kills occur mainly during heatwaves and droughts. They are becoming more frequent as our climate becomes more unstable. That's why we need to be doing much more to safeguard our rivers if they're to support life and livelihoods in the decades ahead.

βSmells pretty badβ: 100,000 dead fish wash up on lakeshore
Hundreds of thousands of native fish have died in Lake Menindee amid a heatwave and blue-green algae bloom.
It's heartbreaking and beyond frustrating to hear that more than 100,000 dead fish - bony bream - have been found washed up on the banks of Lake Menindee. Many more fish may have died, in this fish kill, the 7th major fish kill in the Darling Baaka/Menindee since 2018, and the second in a week.

When it comes to supporting new coal Labor is worse than the National Party was under John Barilaro. The worst bit? They pretend to care about climate.

Western NSW could hit 50Β°C today. Weather records are tumbling across the country.
People, wildlife, livestock are dying. Livelihoods wiped out. Weather related disasters from an unstable climate are making things cost more.
Yet Labor keeps adding fuel to the fire by approving new coal & gas π€―

Calls to kill sharks are rubbish and irresponsible. We need to be listening to and acting on the facts, but instead we've got irresponsible and shameless sensationalism from the likes of Tony Abbott and the Murdoch Media π

At what point will we twig that the inquiry most needed is into the extraordinary power and influence the Zionist Lobby is wielding over Australia's mainstream media and cultural and social institutions?

The shutdown needs to be mandatory because the whole point is to give people a break from pokies. Thatβs why weβll keep pushing the government to do more - including implementing a mandatory cashless gambling card.

Exemptions shouldn't exist at all, so it's disappointing that this latest announcement still provides for pubs and clubs to apply to operate during the shutdown hours!

I introduced a Greens bill a few months ago to mandate that all pubs and clubs have to shut their pokies from midnight to 10am, no exception, and yesterday the government met me part way. But it can't stop here.

Wollongong Council voted against putting the nets back in but they were overruled by Chris Minns who can't stand a bad headline. Now we've heard it cost the Council more than $44k to dispose of the carcass! Who should pay this bill?
