"What if Jonathan Bryan wasn't communicating in his own words at all?"
A startling investigation by @garynunn.bsky.social into the so-called "miracle cure" known as Facilitated Communication:

A startling investigation by @garynunn.bsky.social into the so-called "miracle cure" known as Facilitated Communication:
My ABC News investigation reveals 2 major fertility clinics have sent sperm donors inaccurate family lists of the children born from their donation; in one case, 3 times over.
One major clinic recently lost all a donorβs newly donated blood for screening www.abc.net.au/news/2025-06...
Non-verbal Alex's speech facilitator claimed he'd said-via an ABC board-he wanted to live in a town away from his family
βHeβd have died if that happenedβ mum Mary Busk says
As she learnt, it very nearly did #facilitatedcommunication

Todayβs @abcnews long read is on #ADHD and is written by me.
It specifically looks at a way of managing the condition without medication: the ADHD coach.
They do 9 months of training, zero marketing to recruit clients & charge $190+ per hour.

The broader point about anonymity is that the first donor conceived people have now come of age & many say they long to meet their biological dads/family members for a whole bunch of reasons. We should listen to them.

22.12.2024 18:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It shouldnβt be up to donor conceived people to pay to join a commercial DNA database where thereβs only a slim chance theyβll trace their genetic dads (he may not be on there). If clinics create humans they should be legally required to help them understand their biological roots; onus is on them

Australia's Macquarie Dictionary crowns #enshittification as the word of 2024
As @pluralistic.net.web.brid.gy said earlier this year: "Weβre all living through the enshittocene, a great enshittening, in which the services that matter to us, that we rely on, are turning into giant piles of shitβ
Here's an important message from @garynunn.bsky.social in the @theguardian.com -
"I worked in charities for years β hereβs how I make sure my money is going to a good cause, not Captain Tomβs family"

Just 16c in every $1 was donated to charities from Shane Warneβs foundation.
Celeste Barber's $51.3m could only be used for training/admin/equipment for NSW rural fire service

Recently, Australian broadcasters panicked: next year, βour inflation rate could have a 3 in front of it."
Iβm so used to triple-digit figure inflation in Argentina, I had to check if they meant 300
But the projected figure theyβre worrying about is 3.7%
