Yeah, it doesn’t have container-level isolation, and one hopes macOS Containers will β€œjust work” in a way Lima can’t boast, but still, I’ve successfully used the latter *behind an inspecting proxy*. That takes some real flexibility, and it’s all there.

I’m as excited about macOS Containers as anyone, but I also think the fine folks at lima-vm.io deserve credit for already putting together a great solution for Docker on macOS

Apply for an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) What an ETA is, who can get one and how to apply before coming to the UK.

I haven't seen a lot of people mentioning this, but if you are going to #Kubecon and you have a US passport (among many others) you need to get the Electronic Travel Authorization before you go to the UK. It can take up to 3 business days, though mine took 15 minutes.

It is noteworthy how often I will have a vague thought that I do not fully understand it until I have written it out. It is embarrassing how poorly I have recognized and understood this dynamic.

Looking back this is almost always the result of a lack of discipline on my part, and not due to the fact that I particularly did not enjoy any of them, much less that I disliked them. So I am going to start going through these books more intentionally.

After about a … checks notes … 13-year hiatus, I have started maintaining my Goodreads profile again. If I have learned anything from the experience, it is that I have started and subsequently not finished a lot of books.

β€œGood morning!” said Bilbo, and he meant it. The sun was shining, and the grass was very green. But Gandalf looked at him from under long bushy eyebrows that stuck out further than the brim of his shady hat.

β€œWhat do you mean?” he said. β€œDo you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?”

β€œAll of them at once,” said Bilbo.
