the time to prepare a garden for this shortage was 5 years ago, i sure know it. i wish everyone with that opinion would just go break some dirt themselves.

to be prohuman in our culture is to be diametrically opposed to the entire status quo. when creating a space for indigenous youth to shelter, it takes active threats against those who would see that shelter burnt down, to let that person sleep thru the night.

what are we willing to do, in a reality that means no one is actually safer near you or anyone else, to protect the people who need it most? when the blame and responsibility is placed on the victims, how do we reframe the work of protecting each other?

in the book i’m reading, it talked about establishing an infoshop and originally trying to make it a safe space. they realized there is no way they could ensure the safety of anyone there, not really. so they because a space that was a threat to abuse, colonists, fash, misogyny.
