It frames grief, suffering, love, and dread in a way that a dog could understand and the emotions and actions taken are often messy but everything is underlined with sincerity. And that makes it superior 3/

Ari Aster is so obsessed with his own cleverness that he thinks his simple ideas of a family curse are groundbreaking, and he focuses so much on highlighting his own intellect that it empties the movie of any meaningful emotion 2/
