The social credit system (already in place in China)! Digital ID is a means to control the behaviour of people. Behave in a way that is considered anti-government and the 'privilege' to travel, make purchases, work, etc, is removed, because the proof of ID required to do so is centrally blocked.

New censorship law. Everyone in the UK who has an account with a website that has direct messaging or access to 'adult content' (whatever the government deems that to be), has to provide proof of age ID, facial recognition, etc to continue using those features of the service. Or use a VPN...

Lumo is not open-source. Even Lumo states this, and indicated that elements, at least, of the conversation I had were considered as feedback, which seems to indicate that they were being share with a third party. I will not be using this product. My trust in Proton is waning.
