The current regime took a week to abolish USAID, which is three times as old and was not in the news every day for brutalizing children

I actually do think there’s a war on men. I just think it’s led by boys who are 30-60 years past 18 and not women.

American urban and transit policies are third-rate before most other developed countries, but culturally there's just no fucking comparison and victory goes to the country that's least maladjusted to the realities* of modernity.

America wins because its starting seed is broken and happens to be the last one standing demographically because it's one of the least insane countries about immigration somehow

Imagine winning a historic majority on a "change" ticket and then trying to sell "we're actually too responsible to do much" to the electorate.

What's the point of a majority large enough to ban adverbs on a whim, if not to bloody use it?

The time for this sort of nonsense was 30 years ago.

Japan cannot depend on itself because it let itself rot in comfort for so long, and lo, as the twilight deepens, people turn to conservative delusions yet again.

If you feel I'm misstating facts, feel free to adduce some. I notice you don't for example contest that centrist Dems overwhelmingly voted for the Homeland Security Act. Otherwise, the table-pounding is pretty obviously performative and really detracts from any substance in the discourse.

07.02.2026 23:27 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

You seem confused. All I've stood for from the get go is that centrist Dems were active and eager collaborators in erecting and perpetuating the institutions now most aggressively abusing Americans. That's a matter of history. You have the right to feel about that fact however you'd like.

I too am Latino. I have a home on the U.S./Mexico border. So does Mom, who is regularly confronted by CPB/ICE (as am I when in the area) going back almost forty years now. My job used to literally be aid for asylum seekers. It'd be bad citizenship + personal idiocy not to be concerned and involved.

Dude, your profile is public. If snark's a prime indicator of bad faith...

...but worse still is continued insistence I lack skin in the game unless currently on U.S. soil. As if I lack Stateside family, investments, partners (none even required for valid patriotism, ofc). Good old ugly chauvinism!

You've perhaps understandably mistaken snark here for manipulation.

Less understandable: tone policing civic engagement based on identity-politics assumptions about your interlocutor. For the record, I'm a natural born American citizen, lifelong activist, and care deeply what happens to my country.

A mortally neglected side of military reform is greatly constraining and clearly defining what constitutes the legitimate use of military order.

This is not what an order is for. This is no different than an officer ordering an enlisted to pick up their dry cleaning or mowing their lawn for them.

07.02.2026 06:42 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

In your view how much more would centrist Dems have had to lean into the War on Terror bullshit in order validly to be participants in normalizing state violence and oppression? 95% vote in favor, maybe?

07.02.2026 11:08 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

(1): Doesn't change the reality that centrist Dems have been key players in DHS's genesis and flourishing

(2): Obama/Biden could've used the bully pulpit to lobby against a dangerously unchecked DHS, and could have used a whole slew of EOs to establish regulatory precedent. No credit alotted, sorry

@barackobama.bsky.social this is a war of attrition against Dear Leader and you can actually do some serious damage on a daily basis if you're willing to accept the indignity of the situation.

He will absolutely watch.

"Hi Ryan

I noticed you headed out a little early yesterday (4:57 PM).

While we appreciate your work, we need to make sure we are being fair to the rest of the learn who stay until the end of the workday.

To make up the time deficit, you can either take a slightly shorter lunch otday or stay until 5:03 PM this evening.

Let's make sure we are watching the clock a bit closer moving forward.

We are a team!

Thanks,

Sharon."

The robotic inhumanity of corpo manager types (seen on Facebook group about trade union)

You'd think they care about whether you finished your work versus just adhering to a clock but nope, they're all freaks.

What percentage of elected Democrats voted for the Homeland Security Act?

I think the answer might tend to corroborate the thesis that centrists enable state violence and oppression, jussayn.

Inaccurate.

If you read the research, it's about evidence of the Nubian wildcat migrating possibly as an animal commensal with human occupation; the oldest evidence of actual domestication in Europe is still c. 2000BCE most probably coming from trade with the ancient Near East.

The right with its foundation in atavistic hatreds?

Liberals/centrists with their weak-kneed perpetual capitulations to greed and genocide and fascism?

Libertarians/anarchists and their contempt for working civics?
