also when did we decide putting cream cheese on something made it Seattle-ified.
gonna be funnier than usual when the Chamber of Commerce ghoul shows up to the budget hearing this year and argues Seattle doesn't want progressive stuff

There's also the arg that we shouldn't be messing with other city's elections...but we're all so tightly connected. I think if it could work, county level would be best
And I stand by this old statement. to dredge up size/makeup of city council arg again I think 10billion CMs > "local control" lol
reason #17 why most of King County should reform into Mega Seattle.

Even best case scenario, no reason to believe AI fairer than humans + few accountability measures. but tech companies, either of own volition or by Trump's actively muddying models w/ "anti DEI" shit.

A lack of DSA endorsements and the restructuring of The Stranger means there's a huge hole in the the already disorganized Seattle Left.

ooooh is that this one? I haven't been to discovery park in a disturbingly-long amount of time lol.
Looks lovely, and this tower looks both practical and fun :D
visiting Australia was frustrating for me because it feels like it is SO achievable. Like most of the built environment isn't anything THAT radically different from what we have in the US yet it all comes together much more cohesively. Even the suburbs seemed a little better than ours.
11.08.2025 21:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A playground with a large wooden tower climbing structure, maybe 30 meters tall, with a roof. Giant slide swirls down from the top.
and here's an awesome one just out of Sydney, the playground structure itself is large enough to offer shade, at least to the kiddos, maybe not so much for the parents π
more thoughtful playground equipment seems very achievable. The one at Seattle Center probably comes close to this?
Public square with abundance of large trees, umbrellas, and a modern, abstract-design curved cover, about 5 meters high, offering a bit of shade to seating or a play structure underneath.
Yep just went with sails cuz, I assume, theyre cheaper (at least initially) and imo are more whimsical, less claustrophobic as theyre higher
but browsing Sydney playgrounds shows TONS of great examples. Really we should copy their whole waterfront! here's some combined strats inc. shade structure
this was 2 months before the first tesla takedown protest so really riding the line of acceptability...

In Australia I saw a lot of playgrounds that look like this. We ought to copy it.
