In my experience, I have seen many people be turned away from riding the bus for not having $$ for fair or full fair. Today I saw a conventionally attractive upper middle class white woman be told “don’t worry about it” when her tap to pay didn’t work. Would love to see that policy for all riders.

She probably realized half the people this fight is against are the ones who liked his presidency, so only his words will hit. I spit & piss on his grave, but "I'm from the Government, and I'm here to help" IS TERRIFYING to hear. Just wish he wasn't the one quoted for it.

The fact that the MOU literally said they were asking for all these things to reduce the blight impacting downtown when the tools are weapons, programs & tools all are designed to impact HUMAN BODIES is horrifying. THEY TELL IS WHO THEY ARE!!

All the anecdotes that people were lauding the NDP for claiming they do are literally things that could tangibly & truthfully be funded/provided if the money that they (DMC/NDP/BIDs) get were to go to the orgs that were begging on their knees at Budget to fund & only got crumbs for.

To the twenty-one who voted in favor, we'll see if you're still in those seats next cycle. Like @kellykitty.bsky.social said, all you care about are the rich Suits. Money is an empty promise that demands you sell your soul before even getting a glimpse of "payback."

We don't need corporations & businesses, whose sole focus is on tourism & making things their version of aesthetically pleasing, put in charge of swathes of land & lives which they have no real love or care for. Their only concern is for exploitation & hoarding profit to themselves.

To the six who voted no tonight, thank you for standing against Corpocracy. It's not enough to say "oh here's some amendments to create guardrails/guidelines" that we know they'll squirm out of. We need to show the NDP/DMC there are consequences to their years of subterfuge & abuse.
