Today we came together as a community to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to pay tribute to the courage of the first responders and the resilience of our nation. It was a solemn reminder of both the tragedy of that day and the strength we find when we stand united.

This morning we attended NYS Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli’s annual breakfast at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown before heading to my third (of many) day at The Great New York State Fair!

On this day in 1848, the first Women’s Rights Convention was held in Seneca Falls—right in Central New York. This historic gathering sparked a national movement for women’s equality and civil rights. We honor the bold voices who demanded change and continue the fight for justice and equity today.

We’re here at the Cultural Fusion and Literacy Day at the North Side Learning Center talking to folks about the services our office provides to the community. Come by and bring the kids to enjoy some delicious food, free books and more! The event goes until 6pm tonight.

Hosted our 2nd annual Senior Citizen Prom tonight with PEACE Inc.! This year’s 1980s theme was totally rad—we crowned a Prom King & Queen, danced to DJ Showcase’s 80s hits, and had great food & fun. So proud to offer free, joyful events for our seniors!

I was proud to attend today’s Change of Command ceremony where LTC Gregory V. Humble transferred command of the battalion to LTC Allen J. Luna. As a proud Army Veteran myself, it was a pleasure to witness this time-honored tradition. I wish both LTC Humble and LTC Luna the very best.

Ending the day in The Village of Liverpool! I’m sponsoring tonight’s Liverpool Is The Place Concert, Born to Run! My staff and I had a blast working concessions and meeting with neighbors on this gorgeous evening.

Today, I joined Speaker Carl E. Heastie and Assemblyman Al Stirpe of the Micron Cleanroom Simulation Lab, currently under construction at Onondaga Community College.

We also had the chance to hear from current and former OCC students, whose stories and enthusiasm were truly inspiring.

I had such a great time at the Juneteenth Parade today! It brought me so much joy to see so many familiar faces and to celebrate this powerful day surrounded by community.
