Could we stop using and providing pseudoscience, new-age, etc. with/to autistics? It's making things worse for them.

This episode provides a rigorous critique of institutional power and the “myth of democracy” within autism research, arguing that the language of “consensus” and “community involvement” is often a performance that masks deep-seated inequity and colonial structures.

In our study, led by the amazing Taylor Burns, we found that masking of autistic traits may leave autistic people vulnerable to identity distress which in turn effects mental health. This means constantly adapting to neurotypical norms may make it hard for autistic people to hold on to who they are

Again and again, studies that actually ask people what autism research should prioritise find that the funding landscape bears little relation to stakeholders' priorities.

At the cost of the autistics who any way where not considered, it's an attempt to control the pregnancy, and women. They want women under male autority. This will never be fine.

Paracetamol (Tylenol) does not cause autism, and it is a source of great dismay that autism researchers and Autistic advocates still have to spend so much time battling misinformation.

Research on causes of autism systematically fails to control for the existence and behaviour of Autistic parents.
