Adding to the point about talks of designating trans nonprofits/activists domestic terrorism, what would this mean for trans-affirming research? If we’re labeled terrorists, new scholarship could be dominated by transphobia, providing more “justification” for anti-transness in the name of “science”

Personally, if there was a magic button to make me cis I would not press it. I love being trans and would fight against a “cure” if it was created. My “distress” is caused by discrimination/misgendering, not transness itself. And I’m not autistic, but I’ve seem many autistic people say similar

Also this is implied in the thread but to reiterate, negativity bias is only applied to autism and transness because people assume they’re “bad” - if they’re neutral, then there’s no “need” to identify causes. Autism/transness are being constructed as “problems” in order to then “solve” them
