Wow, I wish this pop-up were in January when I visited San Francisco. Great initiative!

A 3-day trip to the Swedish mountains was exactly what I needed to gather the last bit of energy to finish my thesis. 🗻

Not more than a week ago I let my mind wander back to my climbing trip to Kalymnos in May, mainly due to the relatively bad summer. Now the heatwave have hit northern Sweden and I long for the early summer weather of Kalymnos which felt just perfect. Can't wait to go back.

15+ years old, but still VERY relevent — and if we had acted 15 years ago, the “better world” we’d be creating would be a LOT better & easier to reach. There are real consequences we’re just starting to see to not heeding this cartoon a lot sooner. Even worse if we don’t heed it now. #ClimateCrisis

Utöver det så är det tråkigt att till och med olika sociala medier blir mer och mer polariserade. Jag uppskattar open-source och därmed också Bluesky. Men den politiska diskursen här är ganska ensidig och inte alltid särskilt öppen.

Som högerväljare har jag i stort sett tappat intresset för den nationella politiken. Inget parti, oavsett sida, har ideologiska visioner för sin politik och landets framtid. Alla debatter slutar i pajkastning och formatet förstärker det inte då tidsramen som ges till partiledarna är för kort.

Du är inte ensam, antalet timmar jag har lagt ner på gaming, Reddit, Instagram reels och klättervideos på youtube... Egentligen är det orimliga mängder, men jag ser det som terapi!

Fältet som helhet vet jag inte. Vi på ämnet för sådana diskussioner till och från. Vi brukar också försöka vara noggranna med vilka som uttalar sig beroende på specifik Nationalekonomisk kompetens när media frågar om kommentarer.

Lugn nu! Vi är inte alla där, än åtminstone.

Det här har ju börjat genomsyra politiken på flera nivåer. De med det yttersta ansvaret säger att de inte vet eller inte har insyn. Om de med störst ansvar inte har det så måste det rensas, uppifrån och ner.

Det är ju ett rån rent av!

Thank you very much Daniel. I have a great support network in the form of my significant other. Additionally we have good sick leave options so I have been able, almost at least, to get some good rest during this week. Hopefully up and running in the near future!

Feels like stress is catching up to me. In the past three months, I've been sick more often than during my entire PhD journey.

It's incredibly important to find consistency in these kinds of issues... Sad to see that the US cannot be a force to count on when it comes to climate change and climate financial risk.

You found a real gold mine! I sold my Game Boy together with Pokemon Blue, Gold and Crystal while I studied. Now I would love to have them!

Sick, once again! I really do not have time for this and there is a risk that I will miss our advisory board meeting in which I was hoping to get some valuable feedback on my third paper for the thesis. I guess I just hunker down with vitamins, tea/coffee and cough drops.

Great post on the relationship between whaling and fossil fuels. Kerosene did not displace whale oil and save the whales. Rather, whale oil augmented petroleum based lubricants. Whaling peaked in the 1960, not 1860s.

I do not have more than 1 published article. Hopefully, I will be able to submit several articles as I am now getting closer to finishing my PhD.

I definitely think it would help to read even more. I think that I tend to fall into the trap of skimming through many papers and not reading them carefully.

Will try to set aside time to carefully read some of the more impactful papers within my field.
