Yes. I had a science colleague telling his grad he should not spend so much time on reading for my class (which was a required one) but do stuff in his lab. It's not just the students, sadly.

Nothing more challenging than a person excluded and put through the ringer while initially trying to play the game only to realize: hey, no matter what one does, there's no getting into the club - one thus may as well say it out loud and point at the naked emperor.

I am currently just seeing a lot of achievements of women in philosophy/science being rolled back. -- Even though the in-club politics has never been made so public. -- It is disillusioning.
