Following my complaint, she told the EU Commission that its secrecy regarding disclosures by Elon Musk's X under the Digital Services Act breached EU transparency rules, and was a case of "maladministration".

In vijf jaar tijd, in de zittingsperiode 2019-2024, hebben Europarlementariërs in totaal 4,3 miljoen euro teruggestort. Gedurende die periode maakte het Parlement bij elkaar 253 miljoen euro aan algemene onkostenvergoedingen over. Er is dus minder dan 2 procent terugbetaald.

Hoeveel individuele Europarlementariërs geld hebben teruggestort is wat lastiger te zeggen. Het document dat het Europees Parlement op ons verzoek heeft gepubliceerd, bevat het aantal leden en voormalige leden dat in een bepaald jaar geld heeft teruggestort, maar daar kunnen dubbelingen in zitten.
