It's like something stupid and (in their eyes) funny gets passed around the WhatsApp group, and their first thought is "this would be perfect for the official Insta/X account"

I might be slightly exaggerating, but I'd say around 7 million inches of rain has fallen in Limerick today

How do discourses of 'Irishness' influence how they talk about belonging.
The stories I have heard so far have been incredible, full of humour, candid vulnerability, and agency. I am really excited about where this research project is going.

25.09.2025 11:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0There will always be a racist rump in any society but I donβt believe the country has become more racist itβs just the racist minority has become emboldened to say publicly and loudly what they knew they couldnβt say before. The acceptance of the normalisation and use of this language is the problem

All this talk of the Rapture reminded me of this 1956 social psychology classic: When Prophecy Fails by Festinger, Riecken and Schachter.

Thanks for the share @lokideburca.bsky.social
Interviews are happening but I'm still looking for plenty more. Would be great to get a solid representative sample of the various communities in Ireland.

Thanks to all who have shared so far.
Interviews are happening and I'm almost half way through my planned number of participants, and hoping to keep the momentum up since summer is over and everyone is less busy having fun!
Come and have (some) fun and share your story with me π
I missed this when it aired but it is well worth watching if, like me, you're interested in identity, belonging, and contemporary Irishness.
