This temporary bike lane on Danforth near Pape is the best construction lane I've ever seen in Toronto.
It reminds me of Vancouver and - I don't know about you - but I've got this warm, happy feeling in my stomach?

I've been using @kagi.com full time for about 7 months and love it for two reasons:
1) It just works
2) I've never had to deal with a confidently wrong AI search summary

As a successful business owner of 20+ years - fuck Eric Schmidt.
CEO's at his level are talented but their greatest talent is politicking, not actual leadership.
Google went from "don't be evil" to "let's just be casually evil" in less than 10 years.
love this new york times clip. they recently did a story about how sesame street's set has changed over the years, along with our urban politics.

"What's the problem here?"
A photograph showing a person wearing glasses and a black cowboy hat standing next to a dark-colored horse with a distinctive white marking on its forehead. The person is wearing what appears to be a teal or blue-green colored shirt. The setting looks rural or farm-like with white buildings or structures visible in the blurred background. This image accompanies an article by Michael Harris titled "The Military Vet Who Could End Poilievre's Political Career" with a subheading that reads "Her fight is daunting, but indie candidate Bonnie Critchley isn't one to back down." The photo appears to capture Bonnie Critchley, the military veteran and independent political candidate referenced in the headline, in what seems to be a personal or informal setting that emphasizes her connection to rural or agricultural life.
"Critchleyโs politics are nuanced. She...describes herself as a โcentristโ who sees valid arguments from the political right & left."
I grew up in rural ๐จ๐ฆ - honest candidates like this can upset establishment politicians like Poilievre.

Maybe if your country is the wealthiest in the world but the richest tenth of the country have two thirds of the wealth and the bottom 50% only have 2.5% of the wealth, you don't have the wealthiest country in the world, you just have feudalism.

A dual-compartment waste bin for recycling and litter stands on a paved path in Biidaasige Park in Torontoโs Port Lands. The modern black-and-wood bin features the City of Toronto logo. In the background, the downtown skyline rises beyond newly planted greenery and a fenced urban meadow.
Late to the party in noting how darn beautiful Biidaasige Park is, so Iโll just give some props to these hutches for the parkโs garbage and recycling bins. Nice upgrade over the city's โjust toss some ugly plastic bins whereverโ strategy in other parks.

We should look to combine the issue of professionals being displaced by AI with retiring business owners.
They've got skills to run a business and could ensure enterprise continuity within communities across Canada.
We have over 70% of Canadian small business owners retiring within a decade.
It's national security to ensure many of those businesses stay locally owned.

I genuinely think most people don't understand the insane wealth being held by the wealthiest canadians. These aren't people with summer cottages, they're people with summer yachts, to use while their main yacht is getting polished and having orca defences installed.
