Emerald Fennell is a hack and I love to see that be more widely recognized

Finished Xenosaga 3 (and by extension the Xenosaga trilogy) and while it suffers under its ambition and production issues a little, it finished so strong with a beautiful ending that displays its belief of living connected with others, accepting that our time is limited and embracing what’s ahead

A lot of Automata feels like when you get to an episode that starts off normal but then becomes a recap episode where they put new dialogue over the clips so you have to keep watching it

I know people see him as a forgettable part of the game but I think he’s a fun villain and he has an incredible boss theme

Yeah, either equivocation really misses the mark. I live in Utah and the queer community in SLC is pretty big and vibrant so it bothers me to see people say that stuff and to think that the person who made this up chose SLC cause he assumed that as well

I’m past the halfway point of Gundam Victory and it’s blowing me away. I really liked IBO, Zeta, ZZ, but this is the only show I’ve seen so far that matches the level of 0079, Char’s Counter Attack, and War in the Pocket for me

I like Automata but it’s kinda wild that it’s mostly just doing Nier again, but not as good

I finished Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans yesterday and that show definitely lived up to the expectations I had of it. It was so nice to see a Gundam show by new people that really understood the series and wanted to expand on and explore old ideas while telling a very bittersweet story of survival

Vibes based lists are the best, two of the best games I’ve played this year were Xenogears and FF 10-2

To me it’s one where I feel like some of the solutions are easier to parse since it all runs on cartoon logic so you end up thinking the ways the game wants you to more than a lot of other adventure games I’ve played

All of Gundam is about what it means to throw children into war, but it’s nice to see one that explores it from an angle of them explicitly being child soldiers and laborers who have no perceived use in society outside of this, to the point of using dangerous machinery because they can’t read

The first two episodes of Iron-Blooded Orphans are very strong. Really excited to watch more

Just finished watching War in the Pocket and that was an amazing show. It gave me the civilian and colony perspective I’ve wanted from Gundam and it did a great job at making the mobile suits and war terrifying again. It might be my favorite Gundam project I’ve watched since the og show

But what really stands out is the sense of sorrow and darkness throughout, sometimes the focus, sometimes in the margins, but always there, even in the moments where the joy and light of these characters are abundant. The weight of these events and the character’s lives are ever felt and powerful

I love how fleshed out the world and its history feels, and the ways that Tolkien employs it makes it feel so much like a real place that is being documented by people who have deeply researched it. It’s so clear he was developing Middle-Earth for decades and it truly feels like a full mythology

Reading Fellowship of the Ring for the first time and I am kinda floored by how much I am loving this book

It’s always weird when people treat games as moral simulations of real life and hate when a story does dark things to characters they know, but especially in this case. This is an early Suda51 game with a reputation of being very dark, so what were they expecting?

Been watching Gundam Wing cause a friend wants to watch Endless Waltz with me when it comes to theaters next month and I like it so far but I like Gundam for the story, characters, and how it explores conflict and it hasn’t been doing much for me so far
