We are being traumatized. There is an intentional effort to overwhelm our senses with the senselessness. In Chicago, in Waco, in Palestine and in other places. There are those who believe they must hurt and dominate others to secure their place in the world. I do not believe that.

This moment is disturbing even in the mundane: I’ve started taking screenshots of historical sources I’m using in research from the national park service, the smithsonian, and the national archives, just in case they get taken down. It’s now a part of my process and takes time I have to plan for.

Justice Eddins went even further in a concurrence joined by two other justices. He flamed the U.S. Supreme Court for choosing to "steamroll" the First Amendment's separation of church and state by mandating government support of religion. He wrote: The federal wall cracks. The Supreme Court's recent religious clause cases wreck the relationship between free exercise and non-establishment.... The Roberts Court casually dismisses the lessons of American and world history, the warnings of prominent early Americans, and the judiciary's storied legal minds. Bad things happen unless government and religion are completely separated. Justice Eddins also wrote about something you and I have been talking about for a long time, which is the conservative supermajority making up facts. He called out Kennedy v. Bremerton, the notorious "praying coach" case, writing: "As it often does, the Court repackaged and whitewashed facts to achieve a desired outcome." This is the same point that Sherrilyn Ifill has made on the show about how the record in that case, and so many others, is ignored.

They had to have notebook paper and I assigned a color for the class binder. All the science binders were blue. A few times a semester they had to leave their binder and I would check to see if they had notes. If they did -- an easy A assignment.

Whenever possible, be the reader whose reports you’d like to receive.

This was 9th physical science and 10th biology. So memorization was encouraged for a lot of material as it was facts like parts of the cell or measurements. I also gave out handouts with graphics that would appear on the test with blanks.

I wouldn't do rote copying in literature or history.

I taught my students. When some of them figured out the weekly quizzes had fill in the blank questions from the PowerPoint, they took notes, got notes from peers ECT. I also awarded a notebook grade so they had to have their own notes. No just having one person take notes. This is 2011-12.

The only sentence I agree with in this is the one that says, “Hey, it actually makes no sense to put these on Earth.”
