25.11.2025 16:05 β π 17 π 8 π¬ 3 π 31. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.
It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.
It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.
Transgender care saves lives.
This is horrible news.

Every bit of this only reinforces Joyce Carol Oatesβ absolute roast of Elon Musk as fundamentally lacking in the ability to enjoy anything normally human. βI built a tool that can insult people in a social setting better than anything ever inventedβ is a real personal tell.

Sextant
A breakthrough in navigation, the sextant was used for measuring the angle between a celestial object and the horizon to determine latitude and longitude. It first appeared in the mid 18th century, so wouldn't have been available to pirates of the Golden Age.

Norman MacCaig November night, Edinburgh The night tinkles like ice in glasses. Leaves are glued to the pavement with frost. The brown air fumes at the shop windows, Tries the doors, and sidles past. I gulp down winter raw. The heady Darkness swirls with tenements. In a brown fuzz of cottonwool Lamps fade up crags, die into pits. Frost in my lungs is harsh as leaves Scraped up on paths. β I look up, there, A high roof sails, at the mast-head Fluttering a grey and ragged star. The worldβs a bear shrugged in his den. Itβs snug and close in the snoring night. And outside like chrysanthemums The fog unfolds its bitter scent.
The night tinkles like ice in glasses.
Leaves are glued to the pavement with frost.
The brown air fumes at the shop windows,
Tries the doors, and sidles pastβ¦

Orville Etoria, a Jamaican national whoβd lived in New York for nearly 50 years, was shackled and put on an ICE flight to Eswatini. βIt helped me imagine how the slaves might have felt, going to another land in shackles and chains,β he said. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/dLJ4SQ

23.11.2025 19:58 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The headline is amazing. The foreign policy chaos that may sell out Ukraine is horrifying. The picture is of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, nominally the nation's top diplomat and also the National Security Advisor, who may or may not have called senators to disavow the plan he insists he co-wrote.

23.11.2025 15:19 β π 17 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0The intern was reportedly shaken, so McBurney offered to drive him home. ICE agents then surrounded the judge's car and demanded everyone to exit the vehicle, threatening to smash in the windows if they did not comply. Dana Smith, Head of Security Operations for R.I. Superior Court, confronted the agents and told both the judge and the intern to stay inside the car. After an argument, ICE confirmed they had misidentified the teen and left. The intern was released once his ID was checked. "This egregious incident underscores both the community's and the Judiciary's concerns about how ICE is conducting its operations in Rhode Island," R.I. Supreme Court Chief Justice Paul A. Suttell said. Citing that climate, Suttell said the Judiciary understands recent calls to expand the use of virtual court hearings in Providence.
The **chief justice of the Rhode Island Supreme Court** called to expand virtual hearings βciting this incident where ICE threatened to smash the window of a judgeβs car β because people who work at the courthouses are no longer safe
