A crossover comic b etween Final Fantasy V and Quest 64, with copyright attribution to Square Enix and Imagineer Co., Ltd respectively. It is called an "Epic Crossover Comic!!!" It's signed by "Massey," dated October 25th, 2025, and pinkdodecahedron.bsky. The left logo has a joke where the dragon is sticking out a tongue with a 'mlem' sound. The first image to the left is from Final Fantasy V, where the Wind Crystal has already shattered. The scene shows blue ground, the greenish altar having an empty gap in the center where the Wind Crystal once was, and its four split shards. There is the addition of an old robed man standing on the end of a red carpet before the Wind Crystal's altar, flanked on either side by lit candles. Five are below him. On the top row, left to right: Galuf (orange+yellow), Bartz (brown+blue_green), Lenna (pink+rorange). Lower row, left is Faris (purple+green), right is Quest 64's Brian (reddish-brown+red+blue). Blue boxes: Left - Lenna says: 'The crystal-,' ending in interruption. An errata clarifies it's the Wind Crystal. Right - Butts, instead of Bartz, says: 'It's shattered!' Upper right brown box: Name (in white), Grand Abbott (in black). It says (in black), "Fear not... as Brian will tell you, the element of wind is completely useless and we will not have a 'Day of Grief' over its loss." He's looking down to the corner showing four gems. Red (fire), Earth (orange/brown), Water (blue), and a shattered green pile (wind). All of them have the number '1' except for wind, at '0,' due to the broken crystal. The earth gem is depicted with sunglasses and going "'sup," as it is infamous for being the strongest element in Quest 64.

Yeah, he was a big comic book guy growing up. Even worked at a local shop iirc. The music was a thing he had to get out of his system after 9/11, and ended up being very successful at it for a while there.

Hebrew calligraphy in dark green stretches in lines across the image. Negative space makes room for a simple representation of an inflatable frog costume with a blue bandana. That shape consists of the English translation of the Hebrew, in a lighter green, and in much smaller text. -- Famously, the Egyptian tyrant causes Egypt to be overrun with frogs because he refuses to free the Hebrew people, but there are additional details that make this a fun one to ponder. For one, the Hebrew says "the frog came up" - ONE frog - even though the rest of the time it says "frogs." So there are a few explanations rabbis have come up with to explain this. One is that a single frog multiplied to create swarms. A more creative explanation is that there was a singular giant frog who traveled and brought destruction. Jewish social media was sharing videos of the Portland Frog protester with the caption, "One Big Frog! One Big Frog!" Of course the frog protesters did multiply, and many were seen in crowds all over the world on "No Kings" Day. This calligraphic work takes the verses addressing the frog plague and combines them to form a simple rendering of the Portland Frog protester. The frog figure itself is made up of the English translations of the Hebrew around it. At the bottom left my signature is in the shape of a lily pad.

"Tzefardea Tzedek" (Frog of Righteousness)

As soon as the Portland Frog became a meme, Jewish social media blew up with jokes about the 2nd Passover plague - tzefarde'a (frogs) - and the Rabbinical commentary around it. I knew I had to make a calligraphy piece encompassing all of it. (more in alt.)
