Alberta has banned graphic books before. In the 1950s, 'salacious' comics were the target | CBC News In 1954, the province established the Advisory Board on Objectionable Publications to investigate "crime comics" that supposedly inspired undesirable behaviour in kids.

Our Executive Director @librarylandia.bsky.social spoke with CBC about the Alberta government's censorship of comic books in schools.
