My hank of merino yarn is mostly dry - I gave it a soak in hot water yesterday after plying then winding it onto my umbrella swift.

Yesterday was the final day of #TourDeFleece and I'm so happy with how this yarn turned out.

Plying is finished. You can see that the last part I plied, which was the first part I spun plied against itself, is thicker than the rest. If I were spinning for a specific project, it would be helpful to keep a sample, to compare against as I spin, to stay consistent.

Tonight I spun on my bed while finishing the audiobook "Becoming Madam Secretary" by Stephanie Dray.

I found Frances Perkins' story absolutely fascinating and inspiring, in particular her shepherding Social Security into existence and breaking several glass ceilings for women.

Quick crochet project - a headband using Coboo yarn and a hair elastic. Planning on making more with different yarns and stitch combinations (this was all single crochet).

He encouraged attendees at his rallies to “knock the hell” out of protesters, praised a lawmaker who body-slammed a reporter and defended the rioters on Jan. 6, 2021, who clamored to “hang Mike Pence.” One of his first acts in his second term as president was to pardon those rioters.

Trump has not just offered "tacit approval of violence," he has consistently celebrated it: "I'd like to punch him in the face," as he said of a protester at a 2016 rally. @theatlantic.com adduced "40 instances in which the former president incited or praised violence against his fellow citizens."

John Fogerty objected to Trump using "Fortunate Son" in 2020 -- because Trump was a rich, draft-dodging tax cheat, which is what the song is about.

Something that I think is very hard for Americans to comprehend is that when other countries’ governments go to war, the people in those countries feel it personally. Not just through enlistment, but through *being targets of violence*.

My finished stealth log cabin scarf (since I didn't use 2 solid yarns the pattern is somewhat obscured). I used wool yarns from @redhillfiber and also found my axe shawl pin there. I plan to crochet an ear warmer with leftover yarn to coordinate.

This is a great point. The government is shutting down anyway. The Republicans aren’t going to honor anything Schumer does. What the hell are senate democrats doing? Make them earn it.

GOP has already effectively shut down the government. PUSH BACK. Be done going high. Listen to your constituents.
