Research Update: PFAS found in several reusable period products - American Chemical Society Building on previously presented research, a team found that period underwear and reusable pads contained PFAS, which might be absorbed into the body through skin contact.

Reusable period products might produce less trash, but according to a new study in ACS’ Environmental Science & Technology Letters, they contain “forever chemicals,” too. However, most tested products contained low levels of PFAS, which suggests they weren’t added intentionally.
