People really aren't kidding when they say Bluesky is so much more welcoming and friendly than what I've come across on other platforms.

I'm not even just talking about Twitter, I'm talking just in-general. (Instagram, Reddit, etc.)

For such a short lived show, I find 'the muppets.' (2015) is one of the most endlessly re-watchable Muppet projects.

I've rewatched certain episodes dozens of times, there are so many bits I quote regularly- I will forever be salty it got cancelled as soon as it did.

I have a lot of very bottled up thoughts towards the Muppets, and after recently deciding to try and make an effort to be more active in the community, I'm just going to apologize in advance for how obnoxious I'm probably going to be.

On a more positive note, I never properly introduced myself but I'm a lifelong Muppets nerd, and I want to share my Muppets bookshelf. I've been collecting more or less my whole life!!

(I wanted to add that, unfortunately, that also allows for bad actors to slip through the cracks very easily.)

I'm very proud to be a ToughPig. Take care of each other. Real people will always matter more than whatever media you love.

Which makes it all the more insulting to have such despicable behavior coming from arguably one of the most influential fan-accounts.

I've never interacted with him so I won't pretend like I have experience to offer but: he doesn't speak for the community, and *everyone* deserves to feel safe.

I like to think the Muppets and the fandom has always encapsulated that loving, open safe space for everyone really well, if for no other reason than we know how awful it is to be made to feel 'out of place.'

Everyone should feel nothing less than safe and welcome in the Muppets fandom.

I've always had a small theory that puppetry as a whole specifically appeals to people who, for one reason or another, feel they might not belong somewhere.

Puppetry is anonymous, and I think that allows people to embrace 100% their true selves without any shame or fear of judgment.

Obviously, I don't have much of a platform myself but for whatever it's worth, I support the victims 100%.

I've always been very timid about posting my thoughts about Muppet stuff, worried that my social awkwardness might be a bit off-putting.

But if anything, this 'Muppet History' situation has just made me want to post more, if for no other reason than to flush him out of the community.

There is never an excuse for harassment of any kind. The Muppets have taught us: To treat all people, monsters, pigs and frogs with respect. To believe people who are hurting and asking for help. To admit mistakes and learn from them. And the Muppet fandom has taught us that we are a vast tapestry of wonderful individuals, bigger than any one person.

In all seriousness, I can't wait to post memes for a few days and then immediately forget my login a week later, like I've done with every other account before.
