I'm staying out of the Highguard nonsense - I have nothing to add beyond calls for civility - but this piece did help me understand the real issues behind all the hating going on.

Long story short - a half-baked marketing move and toxic online culture created a misdirected mob mentality.

He ain't lying. I try to give every game a fair shake, but this game is just BAD.

It's an overhead action game that's just no fun to play, and it's earned the ire of many a gamer who's tried!

It's so bad we don't even know which Japanese developer made it for LJN because no one will claim it.

It's a true turkey!

If you've been on the fence, $28.40 for a game you'll spend 100 hours playing and love every minute of is well worth the price!

For those who don't know, it's made by some of the folks who worked on the Persona 3-4-5 games and has a killer soundtrack by Shoji Meguro!

If you don't want to be criticized, create things that are meant for a small but sympathetic audience. You might enjoy the experience!

If you decide to try to appeal to the masses for money and exposure, there will always be people who want to tear you down. Harden yourself against the haters.

I still remember my parents and their friends going to see RoboCop and leaving disgusted because it wasn't enough of a comedy for them. Way too violent, they told us kids who were desperate to see it.

They weren't big fans of satire, as it turns out.

I had a lot of fun with this game!

It's particularly funny because the narrator really commits to the bits, including a scene where the gameplay spills into the recording booth!

If you have never played Narc's arcade version, it is peak late 80s, right down to ultra violence, ridiculous caricatures of drug users and an insane final boss!

And it's co-op!

I've become a fan of Alter Ego after discovering it in the last few years.

It's essentially a 70s and 80s life simulator due to its dated scenarios, but that gives it a lot of charm as a true role-playing game where you decide the sort of person you're going to be!

Blue Max is indeed a really fun game! It looks great and plays really well even today!

The Classic Arcade and Console Era (1972-1989) - White Water An Intellivision game where you brave the rapids of a river and collect treasure along the way.

White Water is a fantastic Intellivision game about heading down the rapids and collecting treasure from games administered by a statue named Big Kahuna.

It's the age old problem of the production team focusing on the people they want to work with (or who they can pay less) without considering what the fans actually want. Happens constantly in the creative world.

I'm not knocking DeVries as a VA, btw. It's just the context of the decision.

I have known differently abled people whose sheer skill at visual artistry puts most of us to shame. It's such a hollow argument.

This is a great idea! Star Wars Outlaws is a game more people should play.

The beginning of the game is actually the least interesting part. The game starts to get good once Kay and Nyx get to the first huge world, and once you get your ship repaired and head for space?

It's peak Star Wars.

It's a really good game post-patch. I've been encouraging people to give it a chance for awhile!

It's more Watch Dogs than Assassin's Creed in terms of your range of stealth options, but the space battles, gorgeous vistas, fun combat and great storyline make up for any gameplay limitations.

1) Use 20% of operating capital to build a program to fund smaller, riskier projects to build into new IPs
2) Build a creative brain trust to guide how the other 80% is used on their tentpole IPs
3) Establish a 3-year release cycle: Far Cry - AC - Clancy
