Well, I think what killed it for me was the endless eight arc. It didn’t help that the anime did exactly what the manga did and are technically the absolute same episode with minimal changes. But it was mostly the social aspect what rubbed me the most. People wanted their friend group to be the same

The amount of damage The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya did to my life cannot be fathomed easily. And not in the good way. I have made peace with many cringy things of my childhood, but I'll never forgive Haruhi Suzumiya.
