What can this be? An oblong cardboard box delivered by UPS? Wait — it’s from Gallery Books/Simon & Schuster! And the invoice codes on the side … why, yes, it’s my box of author’s comps.

The cardboard box has been opened, revealing my 20 copies of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – RING OF FIRE, arranged in four even stacks. It’s quite colorful. It pleases me.

Here I am, the proud author, like a new parent, holding up my brainchild offspring (a copy of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - Ring of Fire) in my home office. I’m so excited I don’t even notice until after the photo’s been taken that my glasses are on crooked.

David Mack’s authorial “brag shelf” packed with copies of his published work from across the last 25 years. His latest work, the novel Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – Ring of Fire, is top center, behind his Faust Award, which named him the IAMTW's 2022 grandmaster honoree. In between the shelves of books, of course, is The Great Bunny Council, which continues to draw envoys and ambassadors from across all bundom.
