our own emotional states subtly influence the way users feel when they interact with our code.

but no... this shit ain't normal, but we've unfortunately normalized it.

it means turning inward to ask yourself how you're REALLY feeling, what you're REALLY thinking... and what could use that energy instead, but as positive energy.

THEN go find something funny/light, feel that joy, and direct it toward something good in the world. (yourself counts!)

left unattended, that grief, anger, sadness... it will eat at you.

it will poison yourself and others.

that doesn't mean jump right back into scrolling to find something better, either.

it means dropping what you're doing completely, and walking away entirely to do refocus yourself.

the good news is:
it means you're still human. 🫶🏽
we need you, AND your feelings.

BUT

you NEED to take a sec to breathe, ground yourself, and transmute that negative energy.

the energy drop is visceral, energetic, and has a bigger impact on you and the world around you than you even recognize.

you know what I mean:

you're feeling good one minute then BOOM

your feed pops something up that shocks you.

you feel it in your gut, in your heart, in your throat, in the depths of your soul.

i just had it happen with a random ra1d video, after laughing at silly memes.

it happens to everyone. 🥺

friends, a loving reminder that the joy-to-trauma (and vice versa) slingshot you experience while scrolling is a VERY real thing.

you're being slapped in the face without your consent a hundred or more times a day while scrolling social media.
