"Say hello to my little friend." - Charles-Henri Sanson
11.11.2025 22:51 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0We now know how the huge debt the PCs came to #Mothership with happened. This episode totally needs a Masters of the Universe style PSA about the risks of carousing.
10.11.2025 15:43 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Imagine if people spent half as much time making the world a better place as they did fretting about what some stranger they're likely to never encounter again as long as they live is wearing.

17.10.2025 14:45 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's an interesting idea, in that I can think of some works, such as those of Jane Austen (in particular Pride and Prejudice and Mansfield Park), Tolkien, and yes, though it's said too often, Shakespeare, where there's a universality that transcends the culture in which they were written.
14.10.2025 11:31 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Surely by now the fact that AI hallucinates should be widely known. I've seen it do all kinds of peculiar things, find a paper, but hallucinate the DOI. I've seen titles for one paper, authors of another, or weird mixes of the two. I mean, how long does it take just to read the abstract to verify?
30.09.2025 21:08 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That's the tragedy of the commons restated in terms of total apathy.

For what it is, I don't mind Aliens. It's very much an 80s "Army fuck ya!" film, with more in common with Commando than with its predecessor. The extended cut is a bit better, but it's still an outrageously jingoistic film.
The original is still the best of the whole franchise.
I have to do something about the Peoples Republic of My Storage Space very soon.
03.09.2025 19:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I'd just like to compliment Mike on his mellow unflappable face.
03.09.2025 11:25 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's normalizing military occupation. Spreading mulch is basically spreading propaganda that "We're here to help."
01.09.2025 12:54 โ ๐ 7 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I think we need to consult 3d6DTL's resident synthetic on this matter.
28.08.2025 19:51 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0What is the context of this? Factually wrong about what?
23.08.2025 00:32 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0John Bolton is a fanatic, but he's a sincere fanatic (which makes him scary in his own special way). The idea of him hoarding documents seems bizarre. I imagine this has more to do with him referring to the first Trump Administration being like a bunch of drug dealers.
22.08.2025 12:48 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I'm a big fan of the Invisible Pixies Theorem myself. Also explains radioactive decay (Invisible Pixies on invisible treadmills), black holes (Invisible Pixies eating large quantities of invisible angel food cake, naturally) and my toaster's propensity to burn toast (darned Invisible Pixies).

19.08.2025 17:30 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Just one of the great lines of superhero movie history. The Richard Lester cut is a lesser work, but the way Stamp delivered that line, with such power and confidence, I remember sitting in that theater thinking "Superman is screwed".
