I really enjoyed seasons 1 and 2 of Invasion on Apple tv. Season 3 obviously had a big budget cut, which meant they could only afford to run around a Canadian forrest with lots of interpersonal drama. Which sucked all the life out of it. ☹️

Yep.

2. The artist has not demonstrated enough cultural or artistic merit. Revenue will consult with outside agencies like the arts council for your application.

3. The artwork is created primarily for decorative or utilitarian purposes and the artist has not proved otherwise.

The burden of proof lies with the artist making the application.
So far, the top 3 reasons for NOT granting Artist Tax Exemption are the artist has not shown:
1. Their work sits within their categories of work (Section 195(1)). These categories are VERY limited and revenue did not create them.

I have only read a few so far and I am really impressed by the diligence and kindness from the Appeal Commissioner who must stick rigidly to the wording of the legislation.

Doing a little data analysis of the last 10 years of appeals to the Irish Tax office for the artists exemption. 60 appeals. No numbers to share yet but numbers from the @childrensbooksireland.ie coffee morning today report 50% success rate over the last 12 months. But...

This always bugged me about business and marketing books To the point I stopped reading them. The basic idea gets covered in chapter one then 13 chapters of repeating the same thing in different ways! The press article reviewing the book was always more on point!
