AMAZING NEWS! A judge has ruled that the Everglades Interment Camp must halt operations. They cannot receive new immigrants (thank GOD), and must tear down fencing and other aspects within 60 days. Essentially making it inoperable.

1. Federal grants
2. Private gifts/endowments
3. Tuition (esp. from foreign students)

For decades, 📈 in 1-3 offset a secular 📉 in 4. Now, 1 & 3 are being decimated & 4 ain't coming back. The math is clear.

I’ll keep my thoughts on that press conference to myself, but my phone is blowing up with friends asking me if federal cuts and hiring freezes contributed to this disaster to begin with. Currently at our local National Weather Service office, due to early retirement packages to reduce its budget/personnel and a hiring freeze there are: *Warning and Coordination Meteorologist position open (yes they coordinate Warnings) *2 open meteorologists positions (yes they are on call 24/7) *Hydrologist position open (yes, they project floods) *Electronic Tech position open *Manager position open So, I don’t know — you tell me. Today in life under competitive authoritarianism

People living under fascism didn’t survive by giving up joy—they protected it.

They held onto the things fascism tried to erase: art, friendship, jokes, rituals, language, memory.

Not as escapism but as resistance. As proof they were still human.

Joy isn’t frivolous under fascism. It’s strategic.

I saw someone post about getting an email from SSA, celebrating the bill passage. I thought it had to be a joke. Then I just got the email.
