Makes sense that they're British because I'm getting strong Acorn A3000 vibes from that design.

This is a v good point.

In my experience, the UK government is quite fond of banning / prohibiting things without making credible enforcement plans.
The result is often more sludge for those who follow the rules, and little effect on those who don't

How to be a man The right story narrative about male attractiveness is grounded in Social Darwinism and free market economics. Can progressives tell a better story?

OK so feeling slightly apprehensive about this, which I suppose is kind of the point. This is an attempt at a progressive view on masculinity and on men getting laid. God help me. iandunt.substack.com/p/how-to-be-...

I've had a look at one in person and it appears to be decent, but I haven't had a chance to ride one yet.

Reviews tend to come down to it's not as good as something like a CRF when it comes to brakes, suspension etc. but that it offers very good value for money.

You definitely _can_ do it. As I say, I'm looking at buying one. However, would I rather pick up a 160kg CRF or a 200kg Himalayan? Not a hard choice from that point of view.

21.07.2025 20:51 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Spent a lot of time looking at Himalayans recently, but at nearly 200kg they're too heavy for any serious off roading.

Honda CRF250/300 Rally is probably the sweet spot, but pricey.

Is the Voge 300 Rally an option where you are?

I don't see how it's any of their business what you do outside of work if you still turn up and do the job to an appropriate standard.

Good for you for taking a stand. Too often people roll over and simply accept these sorts of changes.

It's at least a little bit funny that what we used to call "vibe coding" has become something that is best done through detailed spec-writing with the agent and then detailed planning with the agent before getting said agent to code, kind of the opposite of vibing out.

I did a road journey in England avoiding motorways – and discovered a whole new country | Adrian Chiles Aston Clinton, Weedon, Maids Moreton – motorways bypass so many fascinating places. Maybe it is this that makes us an island of strangers

This is about as close to how I like to approach motoring as I've ever read. Did Bournemouth to Coventry last year without touching a motorway or major A road and it was a delight (and only took 30 minutes longer than the usual A34/M40 route) www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...

Stop Building AI Tools Backwards | Hazel Weakly I’ve been reading this week about how humans learn, and effective ways of transferring knowledge. In addition, I’ve also had AI in the back of my mind, and...

I realized something recently, which is that we're building AI tools completely backwards.

While I was aware that there's some de-skilling happening already, I finally clicked a bunch of pieces together and decided to write this to talk about how we can do *better*

The first season - ten episodes - of Podyssey is a gift from me to you. But given the intense time commitment involved, if you want a 20-episode Season 2, it is up to you to commission it by supporting it. You can do so from as little as a fiver. I love you all, anyway. A x

TV news grossly misrepresents what Councils do. Any mention of local govt on the news is always with a discussion about potholes, libraries or street cleaning. In reality about two-thirds of Council budgets are spent on social care and that percentage is only going to increase.

Visa Racing Bulls didn't go for my Outrun theme for an event poster, but sadly the entry form only allowed for a text description of the poster you intend to make. Maybe they'll still like it? @visacashapprb.bsky.social #F1 #RacingBulls If not, then I hope you all do! #MiamiGP

Applying to internal positions always comes with so much more baggage and politics. Very often it only seems you get offered these positions when you're on the verge of leaving anyway.

Sorry this happened to you. It sucks.

Angry and afraid for my trans friends in the UK after this dumb ass ruling, heck for anybody who doesn't perform gender or sexuality "correctly" these days, and for what kind of signal this is for what’s to come… and trying to figure out what actions I can take beyond writing to my bloody MP.
