Went for my annual trip to the “5 games for 100THB each, get one free” shop and picked up some cheap oddities. Wondered where I’d heard about Martial Beat from so keyed it into the hotel room TV and… yeah, figures. @seanseanson.bsky.social

This game is really good by the way, if you want to drive around in a tank and wave a massive beautiful screen-filling flamethrower around that beautifully reflects off the water then go play it.

What I’m saying is, it’ll only get worse.

Big BleedingCart update: I found my video editing software! It was in my suitcase from last year. Everything is coming together! We have video recording, video capture, audio recording, all the software. Finally my channel can be more than a brief clip of that guy taking a leak in Die Hard Arcade.

Back in the day, Bubsy 1/2 were considered OK platformers at worst, popular games that reviewed well. Saying they were bad games seemed to be something that developed post Bubsy 3D, but the Internet can’t erase my memory.

Idea for a Vice City Stories total conversion mod where you play as Phil Collins. Gameplay unchanged other than if a civilian goes in some water, whereupon you receive a $100 Watched Someone Drown Bonus. (I know it didn’t really happen)

I’m not entirely sure why, but I’ve always been a fan of manuals that show all the food items in a game you can eat.

If you need something to give a boost to the weekend, here’s my best suggestion. The second best suggestion is egg and chips.

I know what you mean and find it hard to put into words - the closest I’ve come is to say it sounds like you’re underwater.

I’m tempted to buy it to find out, because information on it is scarce other than it being a bit of a collector item there (the normal Asia release is more common).

It played OK, more of a testament to the original steering wheel support! While you're here, I have one more Thai-specific Burnout item (albeit non-Criterion). Burnout Dominator on the PSP is literally the only game I've ever known have a legit, specific Thai version. Goes for about £50 used!

From what I can tell it’s running on an emulator. Once you put a coin in, it locks the controls and automatically keys in the inputs to put you into a race (which you can’t select), then enables them. After the race it puts you back onto the menu with the controls locked, no attract screen etc.

I last played Sword of Sodan when it was a current-generation game and I still remember it being dreadful. Without hyperbole I think it is probably the worst commercially-released game on the Mega Drive. I’m told the original Amiga version is less bad, but still not a good game.

Thai Burnout 3 arcade cabinet

Found my photo of a pair of Burnout 3 arcade cabinets, though I later found a big line of them.

Weirdly enough, Burnout 3 has some strange unofficial cabinets (usually something else converted) with a hacked version of the game in some SE Asian countries. I’ve played one in Thailand, it worked quite well. I do prefer the first two games overall though.
