A patch of purple crocus flowers bloom amongst forest detritus at the base of an oak tree. Spring is near.

Yesterday I saw the first patch of crocuses peeking out from the forest floor and I felt hope for the first time in weeks. This is the energy I want so desperately to bring into March.

This morning I made a second attempt at this piece I made with my old paints about a month ago. What a difference a month and some new paints can make!

The Lego movie, aka best movie ever, is more relevant now than it was when it came out.

Been thinking a lot about the Lego movie lately.

These are delightful!

Same painting, 3 ways. Top is an experiment I did last night. Middle, I switched the colors a bit and added some detail lines (which I ended up not liking). Third, I took the aspects I liked from each, went back to the original flower color and light detail on leaves.

Did some zen fish with my watercolors today. Very relaxing. My lines are becoming more even.
