Mike Johnson's refusal to swear in Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva four weeks after her victory is one more reminder that Republicans don't accept elections when they lose. To them, participation in democracy is only a means to destroy democracy.

The "factual background" begins with something irrelevant and erroneous. Dallas is not in Oregon, and the Dallas shooting wasn't connected to any ICE protest.

If that's enough for the President to federalize a different state's National Guard and deploy them elsewhere, then the power is limitless.
