i think most people who follow me would like it, from the hippies to the punks to the goths to the band geek types, whatever you are. maybe not the hyperpop/noise kids who are *only* into really abrasive two-minute tracks, or the people with a super low tolerance for melodrama, but most people!

this is easily the most FUN album i've heard in a while. super "get up and groove on it" (this may or may not be an actual lyric) music that also works well for getting stoned and just listening, or reading old pulp SFF, or something.

yeah, I'm with you! additionally, my experience is that people who are going to mistreat you or who are acting/speaking in bad faith generally reveal that pretty quick. in light of this, I don't see the point in jumping to dramatic conclusions about someone else based on vibes or minor incidents.

projecting these inadequacies allows us to disown them in ourselves, and does a lot to hold people back. if flirting with separatism gave me anything it was actually just seeing how much people paper over by othering people who share their own problems

the doll in your punk house is a whirlwind of rotting pizza boxes because she's male socialized, the femboy in your punk house would sooner take a bullet than have a conversation about splitting utilities because of learned helplessness as a birthday boy

there's some kind of projective factor with it in intra-communal slagging matches tbh. groups of people who were not really meaningfully prepared for independent adulthood (or in some cases have whatever key deficits in achieving that) pull a "couldn't be me" by gesturing to feminist nonsense

(It's complicated because some men, particularly cis straight non-disabled men, *do* feel they are above domestic labor as men, and/or *do* feign incompetence to make the women in their lives do stuff for them-- And Also, people sometimes use this fact against disabled guys)

it *cannot possibly* be because their disability makes those tasks genuinely confusing, difficult, or impossible, but rather must be either a ruse of incompetence to make women do the tidying up for them, or a refusal to learn to do the chore properly based in a belief they are "above" chores.)

(I also think a...complicated!...way ableism often manifests against men, and *especially* trans men-- who likely have some guilt/neurosis around the concept already-- is in a kind of automatic accusation or assumption, esp. by the women in their lives, that if they struggle to do domestic tasks

(tbh, and I am working on this one myself, even if someone IS pitching the most dramatic fit you've ever seen in your life, there's a better and less sexist way to describe that than "hysterical!" just call it a tantrum or say they're acting absurd and immature or w/e)

But other examples would include things like telling trans dudes with mental health conditions (or not!) that they're "being hysterical" when they're upset in a normal way or even speaking calmly, and I'm sure you can think of more.

because they would correctly see it as both sexist and ableist suddenly feel VERY free to say those things when it comes to disabled trans men. The easiest examples are implying a man is worthless if he can't fight or work, and implying a "woman" is worthless if "she's" ugly or infertile.

I think this is 1.) the really sinister side of infantilization that people who see infantilization as more or less benign don't talk about (endpoint is forced institutionalization or guardianship), & 2.) an area where like...people who wouldn't say certain things about a disabled cis woman or man

I point this out because I think it's a lot easier to like...navigate the world without feeling like everyone is constantly out to get you?...if you remind yourself that a lot more people are not deep thinkers or are prone to impulsive speech than are actively malicious or consciously bigoted.

it's very frustrating that people often fail to get this, but because people often fail to get this, I think most of the trans people who make comments that sound like they think poorly of trans men do not actually dislike trans men in general; they are just not thinking too much about what they say

because in fact "the sexes" are not opposites or inversions of each other, whether they be cis or trans.

even though a moment of reflection reveals the dialectic here: trans men almost always have a different situation going on in terms of gender position than cis men do, are still victims of misogyny, And Also this fact means nothing about the position of trans women or how they are/should be treated

I also think...there is a pretty common feeling among people socially that "women are allowed to be kind of mean about/make fun of men for venting purposes, but men can't do that to women without being sexist at best, misogynist at worst." And I think this feeling also exists among trans people,

my guess would be that a lot of said accounts either don't know those people especially well (and are just mutuals online who sometimes talk), or have been told a different story about those comments and incidents

and I'm like, I'm here to have fun and make posts and talk about things I enjoy or find interesting or think are important. I'm not here to focus on people I don't like or to feel sorry for myself or to make my paranoia worse and re-activate the rest of my PTSD and OCD symptoms. no thank you.
