I like anime and reading. Little else.

It’s not that scary honestly. Most of its horror is more aesthetic I felt.
17.10.2025 15:11 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Eh, one other thing to consider is CV itself.
It’s still available on PS4, PS5, and Xbox, but nobody really considers it that highly and it is the most requested for remake probably.
I recall Capcom had an official custom site for this on the Japanese side in the 00s.
15.10.2025 23:45 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The PSN releases had been there since around 2011 as far as I can recall, and there wasn’t much interest in them.
And I really don’t feel an energy to go back to these titles from the current fans. That’s why a CV remake is more talked about than a new CV (or 1-3) port.
Silent Hill 1-3 all have various voice acting legal issues which is likely why they've never been ported outside of the HDC back in 2012.
That and missing source code for at least SH2 and 3.
On my last post, I'd like to also add that this mindset was encouraged by the audience themselves.
A lot of talk about the first remake in 2002, even today, even around this very new discussion, was that it "replaced the original". That's why Capcom says these things as well- because fans said it.
The issue is branding.
Capcom doesn't want to confuse things. They have very deliberately narrowed new RE (since 2017) to just the following titles, these are the only new singularly purchasable games since 2017
-RE7
-RE2
-RE3
-RE8
-RE4
-RE9
Rereleasing the games, subtitle entries, they don't want.
Capcom hasn't been involved with any work done on RE1-3 since they last contracted Sourcenext for 2/3 back in 2006 (and REDS was done the same year).
All efforts since have been Sony pushing it or, more recently, GOG pushing it. Capcom views RE as a purely modern franchise.
Like I said, I don't like this either, but this is just how Capcom is and will be about it, and this really isn't that surprising.
15.10.2025 22:30 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It's why Code Veronica remake begging is a thing. People love the idea of liking CV, but nobody actually wants to play it. The classic style of RE now sits alongside the likes of King's Field or Metal Gear in the eyes of the modern audience- dated and something to be redone but "better" (modernized)
15.10.2025 22:30 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0Nothing for Capcom I mean.
Is that a bit callous and sad? Yeah probably. But that's the reality of the situation here.
I've talked to a lot of RE fans, and a lot love the idea of liking the originals, but very few actually enjoy playing them. These games are not something the current market wants.
The thing with this is, are Capcom even wrong?
Not from a games preservation angle, but from a "Resident Evil" and business angle. No current RE fan is really that interested in these games. The ones that are already have the versions they like available. All rereleasing would do is, well, nothing.
The same mod who was being fed doxxed IPs from this person then closed the thread a mere 11 minutes later.
Totally not incredibly odd behavior.
Last last post, on the doxxing IPs thing.
Coincidentally, I made a post in a thread, and I hadn't noticed, but it was pointed out to me that the suspicious individual found my post on Page 12 and responded to it in just 4 minutes. They only have 9 posts total across 5 years.
A shame. I was hoping Rebuild 3 not being on their site or up for pre-order indicated extra effort was going into it, and maybe a restoration of that initial Funi dub (don't care much for dubs, but the archival effort is always nice).
13.10.2025 22:11 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Last post for the audience of two people who will encounter this.
RetroAchievements is a good site. Unfortunately, a person who I will not name directly because they have alerts on their name has made it their mission to insert themselves everywhere and stir up drama so they can feel better.
Final addendum to this, the former RetroAchievements mod, BahamutVoid, left a lengthy post and archive after a falling out, and I honestly thought some of my theorizing was conspiracy land.
Nope. A certain someone sure knows how to get around. And doxx IPs.
X marks the spot, as would be said if this were a hunt for treasure and not for a drama hound.
12.10.2025 13:33 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Final post.
Very fascinating to see, in the mod screenshots, that several people including the owner were harassed and threatened- and then a short time later, the owner fully caves after being "educated" on the matter. Education that clearly came from one person, who revels in internet drama.
An important lesson to learn on that one is that maybe, for as good intentioned as someone can be, if they have several years of history in stirring the pot and starting shit, just maybe don't listen to them. Ever.
12.10.2025 12:51 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Also, very funny to go through pages of discussion on this and keep seeing "that sociopath" (not my words) get brought up.
Search RA on here, they're the first result.
Search their RA account, 0 content on it whatsoever aside from 8 forum posts.
The filtering system would've been the best practice for this. Just have a Content Warning switch one can turn off in their profile to show the naughty games.
Instead, all that has been done is create division between staff and users for the sake a very loud and very small minority.
I honestly don't get why Custer's Revenge is removed. I do in the abstract sense, this is a horrific game, but why remove it at all? It had been on the site for as long as the 2600 had been, and it's removed now of all times.
12.10.2025 12:28 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0It's now drama that has caused SEVERAL users and staff to leave and delete their accounts.
The result is this joke of a policy change that is really just a "that guy" clause. It's a recipe for the site to buckle everytime someone demands a game be removed.
campaign. The pastebin may have been deleted, but a mod made it remarkably clear that this was the result of one user's harassments and threats, and an attempt to appease. Rather than have drama that is circulated among a group of 2-3 people, it's now drama EVERYONE knows about.
12.10.2025 12:28 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0certainly a racist and hateful one, but that's all it was. The only people on RA who were gonna play this were a subset of users already requesting it, it's a dime a dozen Pokemon rom hack that would get buried under the dozens of others.
Instead, RA has buckled to what I can verify as a harassment
This has to be the dumbest controversy in a while.
Had nothing been said at all, what would've happened would be just that- nothing. Nobody cares about Pokemon Clover anymore, it wasn't gonna be the big catch that adds infinity racists to RA, it was just a romhack,
