Enjoying them as a case study of screenwriting. The first one is great! Still holds up for me. Part 2 and 3 are ok, honestly didn’t remember much from them and I understand why, just not as enjoyable as the first one.

Been watching the Karate Kid films gearing up for the show. The sequels have some interesting and questionable writing choices, but hopefully the show redeems these faults and maybe add or builds on them.

So do editors just reach out to possible clients and pitch their services ? I know it’s mostly likely a “yeah, duh!” answer, but damn I hate second guessing myself. Going to step out of my comfort zone this time around. It’s never late to change right? #videoeditor #videoediting

Decided to pause on Pynchon’s Vineland and picked up Endymion by Simmons. It was just so hard to keep myself fully involved with Pynchon’s writing style. I will read a chapter here and there of Vineland. There’s no harm against ready two books right, especially if they differ in genre?

Forsure, I’m working with a twilight zone type of character, but still using the storyteller concept.

Trying to add a layer the folklore/storyteller theme within my script and going about doing so by adding “The Storyteller” in the beginning and adding his vo in certain act breaks.
Any examples of an narrator/storyteller/ all knowing entity used well in a script? #scriptsky

I do this all the time, especially whenever I feel like a movie is doing it right. Great exercise!

NGL, I really want to read the script to Y2K, such a fun movie. Something I needed to lift up my spirits. Anyone else watch it? #scriptsky #filmsky

I wonder if this would be something to look at during the outline? Seeing where certain beats need to be for your genre and seeing where these characters might play into them? At least this is how I would go about it for a short 15 page script.

Great choice! The Thin Red Line would have to be my pick, the soundtrack is great!

Have you seen Promising Young Women? It was a good movie! Also, there’s a book titled This Girl’s a Killer with a similar premise. Might be worth checking out.
Best of luck on writing!

Worst part is there were so much more in an earlier draft, and yes I had sent it to an ex professor of mine. Oof

A handful of months have gone by since I’ve looked at my short script, a Monkeypaw submission from earlier this year. Since then I’ve let it simmer in my imagination. Some ideas have stuck so much i’m getting the feeling I might have to crack open that script again.
