Today we reaffirm our commitment to our families, our children, and our communities. We must stay focused and move forward united.

While our working families and children continue to navigate through these difficult times, @countyofla has been proud to stand firmly with our residents, passing over 14 motions that I've led at @lacountybos, to ensure the safety and dignity of our most vulnerable.

There have been over 4,000 immigrants, in the greater Los Angeles area alone, that have been detained.

These are the first legislation in the nation to provide real transparency and accountability for ICE agents as communities across the country and the state continue to experience mass immigration sweeps by masked, unidentified agents.

I was proud to join @cagovernor as he signed new immigration bills, including "No Secret Police Act" and 805, "No Vigilantes Act" today.

I now call for the remaining California National Guard members to be defederalized.

There are natural disasters across the State and nation, where their skills and service are urgently needed. That is where they belong.

The withdrawal of the 700 active-duty Marines from Los Angeles County is long overdue.

There is no place for a militarized presence in our communities—especially when residents are peacefully demonstrating and exercising their constitutional rights.

Amid the escalating immigration raids, I'm proud to have led yesterday's motion, which will expand telehealth services, prescription deliveries, food deliveries, and more for impacted LA County residents through our health and social services departments.

LA County is looking into more remote options for health patients in the wake of federal immigration sweeps L.A. Board of Supervisors approved a motion on Tuesday to direct county agencies to look at the effects of raids and federal agents on access to social services.

Our immigrant communities are afraid to go to their doctor's appointments, pick up medications, and go to the grocery store. This is unacceptable.

Today, the Board of Supervisors approved my motion to expand health and social services for immigrant families, which includes increasing access to telehealth services, food deliveries, and more.

We cannot let fear prevent people from getting the health care or support they need.

We will stand together and continue to call for an end to these unlawful raids.

Today, the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved my motion with Supervisor Horvath directing LA County to explore potential legal action against unconstitutional immigration enforcement practices, including illegal search and seizure in violation of the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

LA County supervisors look to assess economic impacts of immigration raids Raids have prompted daily protests

Today, I’m proud to introduce a new motion with my coauthor @supjanicehahn.bsky.social, to assess the economic impacts of the ongoing immigration raids and ensure we support our working families and businesses that have been affected.

I stand firmly with our residents who are exercising their right to peacefully protest, and I thank all those who continue to prioritize safety during this time. We must remain focused, organized, and united.

Our families, youth, and neighbors have experienced terror, sadness, and disruption at the hands of the Trump administration. In the face of that, we must continue to show respect for our communities, even when this administration does not.

Nonviolent action, like that of Cesar Chavez and Dr. Martin Luther King, have demonstrated united peaceful action will carry the voice of the people most clearly.

While a small number of individuals attempted to provoke unrest in East Los Angeles, their actions do not reflect this movement or the vast majority of protesters there.

These demonstrations, including those in East Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley, have remained largely peaceful, with residents protesting through music, dance, and pride in our communities.

Across the country, and right here in Los Angeles County, entire communities have united in protest of President Trump and the many federal actions that continue to harm our families.

In challenging times like these, it’s essential that we move forward with resilience, compassion, and unity. When we come together, we are always stronger.

Our communities deserve protection, not militarization.

We are strong and resilient, but no one should have to live under the constant threat and of militarized raids, racial profiling, and family separation.

Los Angeles County will not stand by. I will not stand by. As @cagovernornewsom.bsky.social said, we cannot be complicit.

It also calls for a review of County-owned properties to prevent their use in immigration enforcement and authorizes County Counsel to join California’s lawsuit to the federalization of the National Guard against our communities.
