I cried this morning because so many of my wonderful colleagues were laid off today, even after the success of IGN Live and Comic-Con.

After today's layoffs, I am now the only social team member left in LA.
How am I supposed to do my job?

If your company is healthy enough for frequent multimillion company buying sprees, it is healthy enough to pay for eight union members. Ffs. Be a human.

My heart aches for my former IGN colleagues. Even while I was still there, we were already desperately understaffed.

Why must employees always pay for management’s costly mistakes? When will it sink in that human beings are required for the integrity and success of this work?

I loved IGN as a kid, and as an adult it continues to be an absolute honor working alongside them as union colleagues ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾

In the wake of layoffs where my friends and now former coworkers were affected I just saw a comment where someone called the IGN staff shills and I swear to god I could break someone's legs right now.

On top of everything else today my eyes have felt like they are both on fire and full of sand because of the smoke from Canadian fires moving into town. I feel bad on many fronts!

If you are a video person who was laid off today and knows how to shoot on location, please email me. I don't have a lot of work, but we will need videographers from time to time and I want to know you.

My heart goes out to the incredible team at IGN. You deserve better. If anyone on either side of these layoffs needs to talk with someone who has both survived layoffs and been impacted by a layoff, please don't hesitate to reach out. No matter which side of that coin you fall on, it's a tough day.
