We need to teach people the difference between being uncomfortable and being unsafe. Because the discomfort of the safest people is endangering the most vulnerable, all day every day.

That's easy - it's because we have a legislature full of anti-abortion extremists who hate the concept of bodily autonomy more than they love the reality of saving babies 🀷🏽

"think that money is going to other health & wellness programs? wrong! Despite cutting funding from health & education programs across the board, Ohio’s β€œpro-life” party magically dug up $25 million dollars to throw at Crisis Pregnancy Centers to burn, including a little $5 million dollar bonus to buy 3D ultrasound machines - which they are not equipped or trained to safely and effectively use. Did you know that Ohio ranks in the bottom 10 states for infant mortality rates, according to the CDC?

So why does our latest state budget cut over $26 million from the department seeking to reduce infant mortality rates while giving more than $25 million to CPCs?

Maybe your child already has had an abortion. They hear you. Maybe your child will need an abortion in the future - remember, pregnancies end in abortion for people who want to remain pregnant but can’t, too. They hear you.

They won’t feel safe with you. Is that what you want?

Comprehensive sex education is much better than abstinence-only programs at delaying intercourse, increases the likelihood that students will use condoms and other contraceptive methods, and decreases STI rates.

24.06.2025 18:09 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Abstinence-only is harmful because these programs β€œfeature misinformation based in fear, gender stereotypes, and shaming tactics that negatively impact students including: LGBTQ-identifying students, those who’ve already engaged in sexual activity, and students who’ve experienced sexual violence.”

24.06.2025 18:09 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The inclusion of abstinence-only programming shows the true intent of the bill – not to give students information to help them be successful, but instead to push one group’s moral agenda on students in public schools across the state.

Success Sequence life planning strategies have long been rejected by academic critics, β€œbecause it traces a path that people already likely to succeed usually walk, as opposed to describing a technique that will lift people over systemic hurdles they face in doing so.”

Roe was never enough, but it did guarantee a baseline of protections that some states expanded. Others, like Ohio, never stopped trying to legislate their way around our rights and block access in multiple ways."
