Every leader should condemn this blatant attempt to stifle freedom of speech and religion. Peaceful protest is a part of the foundation of our country -- shutting down a house of worship because you disagree with one of its leaders is not.

For decades, the White House’s 42-seat movie theater was a refuge for the commander in chief. Now it is gone, demolished this week along with the rest of the East Wing as part of President Trump’s efforts to construct a $300 million ballroom.

The East Wing was built in 1902 & rebuilt in 1942, long after asbestos was used as a fire retardant. So, I’m sure the White House took steps to prevent a known carcinogen from entering the air during the current willy-nilly demolition.

If a temporary resident of the White House can totally demolish the East Wing to build a gaudy ballroom, without any authority, approval, or regulation, he can tear down the rest of the White House to build a Walmart.
