Nerdiest of nerds, Bristol via London. Like scifi, fantasy, RPGs, and have a keen interest in space exploration. Play D&D 5e and learning Italian. The photo really is of me on a camel. Never. Again. LGBTQ+ ally. TERFs and SWERFs unwelcome here.

I'm on the sofa resting with a cold, though I went to the hospital for a(nother) blood test prior to starting a new immunosuppressant. Hopefully back at work tomorrow.

I do know where my degree certificate is, same folder I put it in after graduation in 1991.

Good luck with the job 🀞

I know you've heard that a federal judge ordered the release of 5 year old Liam Conejo Arias and his father, and that they're now home.

But did you look at the judge's order?

It's less than 2.5 pages and well worth a minute. "Jesus wept."

I was stood in that rain outside the Natural History Museum at midday waiting for my London friend and we are both desperate for dry, sunny days.

Driving back to Bristol through it in the dark this evening wasn't much fun either. Roll on spring!

This is on, so I'll be in front of the telly* for a couple of hours. Must be up to a dozen views, it's so good.

I didn't know these were a thing but have long wanted an orrery, though I don't have space in my home for one even if I could afford it!

Yep, my beneficiaries will get free money, they (the estate) can pay some tax on anything over 325k, which my little bungalow is well over. I'll be dead, I won't need it.

Might up the percentage going to charity next time I revise it.

I'd love to be there too but hospital appts and booking "sometime or other in March, not sure yet" off work makes it ... difficult 🀣.

Might not be until I retire but one day I will see a launch!

Park Royal station, think it must be nearly 50 years since I was here, stood outside with my late gran waiting (a long time it felt like) for a bus back to Perivale.

I live on a street with no house numbers so very much been there, done that! The number of "I'm on your road and can't find you" calls I've had from delivery drivers despite the REALLY clear house name on the fence...

Fingers crossed yours arrives problem free.

I live alone so if I don't do it, it doesn't get done. There's always clean laundry, crockery and cutlery, but if dusting or hoovering are important to you, don't come to my house πŸ˜‡

Death toll in Afghanistan when NATO answered the US’s call:

- 59 Germans
- 53 Italians
- 44 Danes
- 17 Spaniards

I'm good thanks. I think I probably won't move to the country where the authorities pump out neo-Nazi memes and masked militias roam the streets.

In a break from everything that's happening today, at Firenze airport you can buy Lego from a vending machine.

So I got this thing (a Seestar S30) that makes photographing galaxies and nebulae really straightforward compared to setting up all the components yourself (and importantly taking it all down when you want to go to bed). Here's a couple from tonight, Bode's galaxy (M81, with M82) and NGC 281

Oooh, I read "The last gifts of the universe" as well, which was a completely random "I'll give this one a punt" selection from one of the tables in Cribbs Waterstones.

The bookseller had read it and was really enthusiastic when I took it to the till to pay too.
