09.10.2025 08:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That's 19 files I have to update manually on pastellists.com
08.10.2025 15:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm no expert on MM iconography (I can't even spell Magdalene properly - blame an Oxford education), but I think top right is an oil lamp suspended from a bracket. At the bottom of this, looking like a chess piece, might be a stylized ointment jar (it should be!)
02.10.2025 20:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A Mary Magdalen
02.10.2025 18:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Do we yet know how much HMG will actually receive from the award given the co is now in administration? (No idea if amounts can be recovered higher up.)
02.10.2025 18:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The violin solo from the third of Richard Straussβs Four Last Songs, Beim Schlafengehn.
Just seeing this on the page turns some people* into a blubbering mess.

My comment on the Telegraph article on the Bayeux tapestry:
www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2...
Did get it but anyway...
"Maths" is a contraction, and takes no full stop; "math." is an abbreviation, and should have one (even if it doesn't always get its due). same number of keystrokes, so no economy.
I think he's progressed beyond teaching the chosen seed how the heavens and earth first rose out of chaos to how to get back there quick...must be those tablets again
24.09.2025 10:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Would have been more effective if Davey had given a specific example like that instead of letting Mason get away with it
22.09.2025 18:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What's he gained for UK in tariffs or defence, and was it worth turning a blind eye to genocide?
18.09.2025 12:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When he sees that photo I feel sure Humphy Trumpty will devise some new US order of chivalry so that he too can wear more bling. Expect the badge of the order to be gold
18.09.2025 09:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sorry...only Β£508,000...
17.09.2025 16:46 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Handbag showing a Liotard portrait of an archduchess in pink with the title Marie Antoinette above
I am very much hoping not to be out-bagged at the #MarieAntoinette exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
17.09.2025 16:27 β π 10 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0The Rosalba pastel of Coulson Fellowes (J.21.0511 ) just sold for Β£520,000, an auction record for the artist

So?
09.09.2025 20:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Men need not apply
09.09.2025 14:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0have arisen, even if Neidle's tax specialist should have caught it. NB I don't know the facts here, and I don't like Rayner and would like to see her go; but there is a possible scenario in which her behaviour here should not have that consequence.
It's the law that needs to be changed
I'd have expected @ft to spell out just how bizarre the SDLT provision is that seems to have caught her: just being the parent is enough, even if you don't own any beneficial interest and aren't a trustee. It isn't about occupation. Without this you can't appreciate how easily this mistake might...
03.09.2025 19:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Further, the paper doesnβt deny (it canβt) that leaving the ECHR would entitle the EU at once to terminate Trade and Cooperation provisions of great importance to immigration control and fighting crime. The EU could also terminate the TCA as a whole.
01.09.2025 08:06 β π 57 π 6 π¬ 2 π 8That result is so obviously problematic as to rule it out as a practical suggestion.
01.09.2025 08:06 β π 41 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Great for them but has it occurred to you that that's coming out of everyone else's pockets - and we're more likely to be reading Bluesky than busy parents?
01.09.2025 11:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 5 π 0Isn't it a warning shot across Reeves's bows? Loosen up or we'll take over/replace you?
30.08.2025 08:54 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Increasingly Starmer is aligning his policies to Farage's. The difference is that Farage looks as though he believes his, while Starmer's insincerity and inauthenticity are visible to the thickest voter
27.08.2025 13:20 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0This ignores not only our moral duty, but the force of a clear statement that UK will do everything possible to bring Netanyahu and his inner circle to The Hague to answer for what they are doing.
Only by removing Israeli impunity (which UK helped create) will we see a return to civilised conduct /
Starmer and Lammy would have you believe that nothing we can do will rescue Gaza, that only Trump can change the course of Israeli destruction (so best not antagonise him pointlessly - and not risk accusations of antisemitism etc even though those are already dividing UK). 1/2
25.08.2025 16:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0What a daft idea. They're quite likely to reach the right decision, defeating the whole purpose of the reforms
24.08.2025 11:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ah so it's connecting with infants that explains his success with Trump...
23.08.2025 17:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It also means a considerable decline for those who don't get wages and can't negotiate even that protection
20.08.2025 07:34 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0On the recognition of Palestine
A close look at an unconvincing letter from "distinguished" UK lawyers
