Whatta bout Sumo

I wonder how that will work with the current Amasumo organisation in the US, which is currently in a phase of mass growth and fixing up within the org. The current board is doing a lot of good work to really shape up the sport and IDK if another org in the US is what they need right now...

Does anyone know who leads the Rikishi-kai now? I imagine it cannot be Kakuryu anymore...

Good seeing that the scrutiny is coming from the Rikishi-kai. Sumo keeping it's own honest, rather than everyone inside scrambling to protect each other as some outsider investigates.

Still weird to entrust money like this to an individual... but good that they were eventually on his case about it.

Kayo becomes the most embarrassing top division debutant this side of Covid. 3 wins at most.

Hoshoryu yuusho, it won't be close. Locked on day 14.

Takayasu looks more like Kayo than Hoshoryu.

Endo > Oshoma.

Kotoshoho goes to Juryo. 4 month prediction that he wins the Juryo yuusho in Nagoya.

About a third of my Saturdays, due to different campaigns fluctuating schedule differently, I DM 3 different TTrpg campaigns on the same day.

One from 6am to 9am.
One from 5pm to 9pm.
One from 10pm to midnight.

Without a doubt the one to impress me the most today was Hakuoho. For a young guy like that to have the confidence to swap grip knowing it's gonna get his back against the tawara and go through with it cause he knows he'll defend and the new grip will win the long game... yea. Mature sumo from him.

Day 1 of the Haru Basho:

My agenda is that nothing we saw in Hatsu is any indication for anything to do with reality. So far, that would hold true except for the fact that Kotozakura still looks like his Hatsu self. Darn...

New Monster's Manual out today, was a fun browse. Lots of iprovements to all the core creatures. Gonna be a great toolbox moving forward. I really like how many fun reaction skills the spread throughout the whole beastiary.

You know all the guys up there in results with him this basho. Against them, Hoshoryu came out this Basho 8-0.

That is it's own kind of statement.

Btw, yea, this was a 12-3 yuusho. Yes this was not clean. Yes Hoshoryu did not even control his own destiny on the final day as he needed Oho to bail him out to get a playoff... BUT:

Let's go!!! That is how you do it Hoshoryu. Thank god Oho pulled through for the rivalry to continue. Awesome job Kinbozan but you are out of here.

I still don't believe in Kinbozan's ability to yuusho but at this point it might be more cope than honest prediction.

My ability to incorrectly predict Sumo results is a statistical anomaly and should be studied.

Day 2 Hoshoryu came to make a statement about his ambition. Message received, my leige.

Hoshoryu looked like a different Rikishi today. Gone for good is the small trickster we saw rise through the ranks. This is a midsized strong bulldoze of an Ozeki, and I thinks it bodes well for his hopes of leaving the Ozeki rank in the right direction eventually.

Yea, this is absolutely true. He's been an unrefined gem from day one. It's on him and his Oyakata to make a Yokozuna out of him from here.

I have honestly not been this pumped for a Basho in many years. It really feels like we're at the threshold of a new era one way or another. The power vacuum years are coming to an end and something is getting established once again in Sumo!

I'm not a huge scouting report reader but I think I heard the guy was competing this time, teru that is.

If he finishes the Basho, a Jun yuusho would be his worst result when finishing in a long time!

Maaaaan I want Hatsu to start already come on lemme skip this week!!!!

- Onosato Yuusho (kokugikan buff)
- Terunofuji jun-yuusho
- Two failed Yokozuna runs.

Idk chess sry. But if a guy did good science and helped society, and the Swedes decide it's good enough to win a nobel prize, I think it causes harm to then not let them come if they're the kinda guy who likes to wear shorts and a hoodie.

I'll cop that there is a difference for purely private events like a wedding. Sure.

I think though that in a public arena it's something we ought to move away from. Excluding or punishing someone for not fitting into an image is stiftling of a good kind of freedom to individuality.
